Josiah, while considered a righteous king, as well, was killed in a battle he wasn’t directed by God to participate in. He departed from total dependence on hearing the word of God and acted on his own behalf. It resulted in his death.

it is so disappointing to read how these godly young men lose their senses later in life and go astray. They fall in love with themselves and what their fleshly hands have established, their worth in this world, earthly pleasures, etc. It is really all bagged up in 1 John 2:16, “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.”

Questions arise like, “Should Christians celebrate Hanukkah? Is God glorified when Believers partake in holidays like Christmas? What is the history with the Feast of Dedication?”
