Lifestyle: Trust in God
“Trust in Him with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight.” Provers 3:5-6

Josiah, while considered a righteous king, as well, was killed in a battle he wasn’t directed by God to participate in. He departed from total dependence on hearing the word of God and acted on his own behalf. It resulted in his death.
The love of Israel to their God, YHWH, was so much like a yo-yo. Up and down. Just a few chapters back, in 2 Chronicles 23, we see the Passover Festival commences after a long silence. Then it stops again. Why? What was happening? And how long was this span between Passover celebrations from Joash to Josiah?
it is so disappointing to read how these godly young men lose their senses later in life and go astray. They fall in love with themselves and what their fleshly hands have established, their worth in this world, earthly pleasures, etc. It is really all bagged up in 1 John 2:16, “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.”
Something that gripped me here was the significance and purpose of music. I had lost sight of it, or, perhaps, never even knew its real place. As a musician and songwriter, it is not difficult for me to sit down and scratch out a song and a melody. For years I struggled in a band performing in bars and clubs, never quite satisfied, always wanting, striving and waiting for a record contract. It never came. Was that a good thing? What have I learned from it all?
