The result is that these languages have grown to be so intricate that only those specialized in the jargon can understand them. Anyone who has ever tried to learn a second language can attest to this. The increasing fact that as the world evolves and new disciplines and vocations are added and language becomes more specific the complication of being understood multiplies. Include the fact that people are built with different strengths and different ways of communicating and understanding and the ability to gain knowledge, this complicates the problem of attaining Babel as well.
One might say this is not even worth mentioning. It is here that I must point out that ever since the demise of the Tower of Babel and the abandoned project, every generation has only ever tried to rebuild Babel, starting with the Hamites, who’s idea was Babel to begin with through Ham’s son, Cush.
Striving for Babylon
Humanity uniting under Babel would not have been good. Men still under the condition of sin, unredeemed, with unanimity to only do evil would have been eternally hurtful. God was seeking to preserve that which He had created. This unanimity will be destroyed once and for all and God will put it away during the Second Coming.
Until then, we have generation after generation and nation upon nation straining, plotting and striving to rebuild Babel. When you witness unexplained confusion and inexpressible sorrow around the planet, keep this in mind. When all nature seems to groan, remember…the Prince of Persia reigns and roams the earth. He has a massive army. His guise is light and his aim is making everything that glitters appear as gold. His name is Mammon. He kills, steals and destroys.
He is our foe. He is already defeated. Though indeed he is working to re-establish his kingdom, Babel, like before, his tower will not stand. Just as God divided the language in one day with His judgment on Babel, He also brought together in one day after His ascension. A great miracle of languages occurred as Jews from all nations were gathered in Jerusalem and identified the Apostles of Christ speaking their own tongue. God was spreading the Good News to be taken around the globe. Many believed, and those who did believe had one mind and were strengthened. God’s divine purpose will always be accomplished. In a very short while, we will all, once again, be speaking the same language.
“Therefore, you kings, be wise; he warned, you rulers of the Earth…Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling…Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment…Blessed are all who take refuge in him.” From Psalm 2
